Cleaning propane tank. Dump stinky water on grass?

Hello.

I want to cut up a propane tank but also need to prevent a divorce.

Was wondering what happens to the stinky marcaptan water if the tank is rinsed out if I was to dump it on the grass. Does the smell eventually go away?

I live on a ½ acre so I do have some space to play around, but I want to make sure a section of my property doesn't permanently smell like a propane distribution hub.
