I saved part of the last few batches of jerky that I made for my relatives that are coming over for Christmas. When all of the family gets here tomorrow, I plan to have a jerky taste-off. I also figured there are going to be a lot of people getting dehydrators for Christmas, so they should know which flavors are the crowd favorites.
I have been blazing my way through the Owens BBQ jerky/cure flavor packets. The only one left to do is Mesquite...but that will have to wait until my next batch of jerky. I used to make my own marinates, and my all-time fave was garlic-chipotle with a few drops of Dave's Ultimate Insanity Sauce (Habarnero), but have found the ease and convenience and low cost of the Owens BBQ flavor/cure packets to good to pass up.
All flavors were shrink-wrapped and frozen in the deep freeze over the past couple of months. For the taste-off, the following flavors will be evaluated:
Jerky Flavor (top left)
Hickory (top right)
Prime Rib (center)
Teriyaki (bottom left), and
Garlic Pepper (bottom right)
Unfortunately, the Maple-Jalapeno jerky was ALL eaten by my office-mates...so it will not make the taste off tomorrow.
Also, if you are new to making dehydrator jerky, I have posted a step-by-step thread on how to do it. The link follows:

Merry Christmas!
