Cherry for cheese

Anyone ever use cherry to smoke cheese? Like it? If not, should I use hickory, maple or oak? Any suggestions?

I have used cherry many times and love the flavor.  Although cherry is not as strong as say hickory so I like to smoke hard cheese with it at least 4 hrs.  I like strong smoke flavor!  I have not tried maple but I should.
