Ok, I'm cheating today, to lazy to smoke anything so I'm doin a simple pot roast in the Crock Pot. It's been a long time and I had an incurable taste for pot roast. Sorry.

Ingrediants:
3 lb. chuck roast
1 1/2 lbs. baby red taters, quartered skin on
1 1/2 lbs. carrots, peeled and cut
Cajun Shakes, cajun seasoning
Tones beef base broth.

Rub chuck with cajun seasoning and let it rest in the fridge while getting the taters and carrots ready.
Put taters and carrots in bottom of crock pot and sprinkle seasoning on to taste (I use about 1 T). Heat 3 cups water to boiling and add Tones beef base to make broth. Sear chuck roast on grill (all sides). Add seared chuck roast to crock pot on top of taters and carrots. Pour beef base over the chuck, taters and carrots. Set it on high for approx. 5 or 6 hours or low for 10 to 12 hours. Depending on your schedule.

Taters and carrots added and seasoned.

Chuck roast on top. Then add beef broth.

I'll post finishing pics later. Enjoy!!!

You could always add a few dashes of liquid smoke

I think we can forgive this non-smoked meal, blasphemous as it may be, as long as you send us all out a sample plate.

1. Still looks great. Nice comfort food.
2. How long before one of you buys that domain name?
