Cheap NASCAR tickets

I was listening to John Boy and Billy the other day and the owner of Atlanta Motor Speedway was on and said that the # of the winning car at Daytona will be the price of the first 1000 tickets for the Kobalt Tools 500 (normally $95) with a cap price of $50 in the event that a high numbered car wins. The offer starts at 0900 on 16 Feb 09 and goes through 1300 on 17 Feb 09. After the first 1000 are sold people will be able to buy one at normal price and get the second for the price of the winning cars number.

One of my friends also told me about that promotion. That's a real slick idea from the AMS to get people to buy tickets in these trying times. Kudos to them for trying to make the sport more affordable for those that really want to go but can't afford the higher prices.

Oh well... Central Kansas is a long drive to AMS.

I woulda been happy to pay 48 bucks...
