Saw this on another site and thought i would share.I have heard this talked of before, but never seen a video....

With popularity of pellet poopers the varitie of wood is endless....

I have seen this before..you don't even need pellets I'm sure sawdust or chips would work also. I may have done it if I hadn't got the big kahuana from smoke daddy first.

I'm gonna have to try that it looks easy and I love smoked cheeses and never knew how they did it. Now I'll have to try this one too. I'll never get all this good stuff done well some much for that honey do thingy.

I have yet to try,but it sounds easy.I would suggest the heaviest duty sodering iron you can get though........

Alex is right about the soldering iron, some light ones can sometimes burnout sooner than expected.

I've been using this method for a couple of years. Recently updated it and modified it for my MES. Added the air supply and the elbow to fit the MES.

I will 3rd or 4th the notion that this works. I use it all the time when I smoke hard boiled eggs....I do it differently as its just easier for me.

I hard boil the eggs and peel. Put on the ole Charcoal kettle grill insert apple pellets into old tin of beans, insert soldering iron into pellets and plug in.

I think my cost was 6 bucks or so for the soldering Iron (not sure of the wattage but it get around to 500 or 700deg)

That is sweet.Glad to hear that it works...

thanks for sharing that! That is probably the easiest way I have seen to smoke cheeses. I have never seen those pellets before either. I'll have to start looking. Smoked cheese for Xmas gifts this year sounds good.

Thanks Frog, I have bookmarked the site and will blog them up on a future smoke.

I have the BBQ DELIGHT pellets but chips work well too in this set up. You can even mix pellets and chips. As long as the chips are on the smallish side. You don't want some big honking piece of wood in there but once it starts smoldering it really doesn't matter. If the smoke starts to die down a shake of the can will redistribute the chips or pellets and it will start smoking well again.

Thanks for that tip, I'm heading to kmart then to get an iron. I'm giving everyone on my list smoked cheese for Xmas. Anyone have a good way or wraping or presenting it? Colored cello and an inexpensive dish maybe? Ideas? It has to be cheap.
