Kagke, I converted an old Smokey Mt charcoal to an electric. I insulated it so I could use it all year. I do have a problem with it though, I used a kitchen oven control on it and it takes forever to adjust the temps. I can move it ever so slightly and it will jump 20 or so degrees.

I am hoping to see what others have used instead of the oven controls. I have found several but don't know how well they will hold up. I will make a post in another section and see what others have done.
