When making a charcoal basket should I make it any taller than the intake to my pit? If I do and fill the level above the opening will that cause a problem with ashes going into the pit area? Also using the Minion method, when refueling my basket do I need to move the old/lit coals to one side and place the new/unlit coals beside them or just place the new/unlit coals on top of the old/lit coals? Thanks guys.

Let me start by stating that I am not the expert on this. I think that yes you would make it higher than the input and yes if I understand the Minion method you definitely would move the coals to one side
