Got a call from a guy from Letgo. He has one of these smokers brand new in the box for 135$ Better reviews than MES 30" anyone dealt with this smoker ?

Drove to Dayton this morning. Guy took 120$ for it ! Box had never been opened. Seasoning it now. Very sturdy. Not sure what to do first.

Ordered a smoking kit with silicone gloves basting brush and a set of bear claws. I went ahead and ordered a thermapen just to double check the probe that came with the smoker. Doing drumsticks today and looked at my remote which was reading 156* I stuck the pen in another drumstick and it read 155* I read reviews that alot of the smokers could be off as much as 10-15* think I got a good one here

I've had mine for almost a year now and I love it. I have smoked just about everything in it and have no regrets.

My chips are not turning to ash. Good bluish Grey smoke but chips look like charcoal when its done. I really cant get more airflow. Vents are not adjustable

I would not worry too much about the chips turning to ash or looking like littles pieces of charcoal.  If you are getting good smoke and good flavor, I would call that a success.  Even in my smokers (Cookshack and Smokin-it)  while I would get ash most of the time,  there have been occasions when a chunk or two was turned to charcoal.  Flavor was always good no matter what.  Sometimes the weather can have an effect such as a breezy day 'pulling or drafting' the smoke out of the top vent.
