Ok, just got a Avid Armour USV32, and it has a marinade function. So wanted to try it on some Tri-Tips.

Trimmed up some Tri-Tips. Then put olive oil/garlic/rosemary all blended up on them as a binder and some extra flavor. Then added a course rub on them. Then into the Vacuum sealer with Marinade function (90sec vacuum each cycle) hit them with 3 cycles each.

We will see if this makes any difference with the rub/seasoning penetrating the meat right before grilling.

Then I will grill them on Live Fire Santa Maria grill.

Here are some pics of them.

Turned out pretty good, not sure how much of a difference this made using the Chamber Vac on this type of oil/rub. Will try it on a real liquid marinade soon.

Anyone else have this Chamber Vac or another similar with this type of function? If so how do you like it and how effective do you think it is?

I never have read about just a 90 second vac, I do mine for at least hours or longer.

It is the chamber vacuum itself, you put the meat and marinade in a dish or bag, toss it in the Chamber vacuum and it pulls a vacuum for 90 seconds (it does not seal or anything) you can use a open bag or open dish.

I did each Tri Tip for (3) 90sec cycles. Basically just using a vacuum to pull/push marinade/seasoning into the meat.

I would usually do it the way you are talking about. Vacuum seal meat with marinade and toss it in the fridge for at least a couple hrs. But wanted to see how this quick marinade function on my new chamber vac works.
