Smoking Fanatic
I knew someone with a CCW that got in a bar fight while drunk. His gun was in his truck at the time. The court tore him up.
I don't own any either!Although I don't own any guns. Vermont's concealed carry follow suit with its very laxed gun ownership laws. Must be legally able to own a gun, and be at least 16 years old. Schools, government buildings and school buses are the only places where you can't conceal.
I'm just glad I live in an area that there isn't a need to carry.

Class done, application sent, schedule fingerprinting in 7 weeks! UGH-SLOOOWWW.
oh well, its started and happening. excited.
WOW, when I was there I got a permit as required. things change! Class is very helpful on laws and many other topics surrounding. well worth it IMOGood on you!! I need to sign up for a class.
Back here in good-ol' Utah we decided to join the union and no longer require CCL for concealed carry. Now if you're a resident of the state, and a non-felon you can conceal carry without any permit.
However, from what I've heard its good to take the course. Just to be aware of laws (things that can change on a whim whenever politically advantageous) and to know how to proceed if you ever have to use your weapon.
I've never carried, but as time passes I wonder it it would be a good idea. People be crazy these days.
Lotta Beretta 15 rd mags have weaker springs than they should. They aren't stiff enough to force the follower up hard enough to engage the lock. If you call Beretta and kick up a fuss they MIGHT swap your mag out. Tell them it won't feed rounds but that you have 4 other mags that work fine. Has pretty much zilch to do with Remington rounds. Do you have 2 mags and does it do the same with both? Just put 1 round in, rack it, and fire it, test each mag a few times.Colorado doesnt make it easy. its a bit of a PITA and $$$. unlucky for me my county is known for dragging their feet and the instructor said it will take about 5 months for the process to be completed by the county. so we'll see...filing the online forms today. he said fingerprinting was scheduling 2 months out...yay...
what ever. is what it is. found a nice gun range out of it.
side question: my Beretta 92FS slide doesnt always stay open when the clip is emptied. One of my buddies says it could be because i was shooting "cheap rounds". I bought a box of 500 Remington range shells on the cheap a while back. could it be that? Or?
its definitely the springs. I stretched one out and tried it. locked open just fine. I had a hard time believing it was the rounds. My buddy makes his own, so anything bought is trash to him.Lotta Beretta 15 rd mags have weaker springs than they should. Other than that it could be the slide lock spring or you are riding the slide with a thumb. Spray some CLP in it. Mags are by far the biggest cause
A 17 round factory Beretta mag might be a good investment for you. Those have stiff springs and work well.
Not to be that guy, but it's a magazine, not a clip. Some folks will rag on a person for saying clip. To me it's not the end of the world, Hollywood has been telling us it's a clip in the movies since Charlie Chaplin was the Megastar.
This is what you want, sometimes they can be had for a few bucks cheaper on different sites. I'm a stickler for factory mags in pretty much anything except a 1911 when it comes to handguns though mecgar and armscor generally work fine. It's an aesthetic thing for me.

Might have to test your knowledge. I think Colorado is one of the states that restricts mag capacity....

My big pistols reside in the safe these days and I just pocket carry a Ruger lc9s in a Desantis nemesis holster.Carry concealed a government 1911, daily and everywhere
I forgot brass knuckles, lol they are on the list of deadly weapons we can carry.Interesting factoid, our permits are called CCDW (Concealed Carry of Deadly Weapons) in Kentucky more or less because it includes most any deadly weapon .... knives not considered ordinary pocket/belt knives, billy clubs, martial arts weapons, etc.
When the original "Must Issue permit law" went through the legislature, it didn't prohibit carry in bars, so all the folks up in Louisville were having a regular fit saying it would be like the wild west. As a compromise, the legislature rewrote the bill to exclude carry in bars, but they also included the additional weapons as legal to carry by permit holders lol.
yup 15 round max. luckily my FS mags are 10 round and my px4 sub compact is 13. I can always reload ; )Might have to test your knowledge. I think Colorado is one of the states that restricts mag capacity.
Do you really want the Feds controlling who can carry and where? No thanks. The 2nd amendment already answers that question without any further input from them.It would be great if we had nationwide reciprocity.
no, but a permit at least gets a gun owner into a class on basic gun safety and what happens if you shoot someone unnecessarily. not trying to argue, it doesnt matter to me because I have to get one in CO or run the risk of big problems. If CO didnt require it I would pay for it thats for sure.Do you really want the Feds controlling who can carry and where? No thanks. Classes are good. But knowing when it is legal to use deadly force or not falls on the one carrying the gun regardless of any requirements. Also varies state to state. For example, in Kentucky, you can't shoot a thief taking off in your car or property. In Texas you can shoot a thief taking off with your car or other property.no, but a permit at least gets a gun owner into a class on basic gun safety and what happens if you shoot someone unnecessarily. not trying to argue, it doesnt matter to me because I have to get one in CO or run the risk of big problems. Very true! All this gun talk makes we want to hit the range! Might be in my near future.Classes are good. But knowing when it is legal to use deadly force or not falls on the one carrying the gun regardless of any requirements.
No argument about the 2nd and concealed means concealed.Do you really want the Feds controlling who can carry and where? No thanks. The 2nd amendment already answers that question without any further input from them.
