Cast iron ID question.

Picked up a skillet for ten bucks at an auction a couple weeks ago. I cleaned it up and redesigned it today. Looks nice now. The only markings on it are 11 3/4 inch skillet on the bottom, and a 10 on top of the handle, and what looks like a 0 on the top of the handle. Nothing stating a brand name. Any info on what I've got? Here's a before and after.

Not sure, but looks like a fine cooking utensil you have there now.

I ran into a similar problem when I researched some CI I inherited from my grandmother. Evidently, a lot of companies used to make CI, and they didn't always put their "mark" on them. That looks like a good piece you scored though. Fry up some bacon to reseason it the proper way!

I have a couple of those. They were given to me by a neighbor over 25 years ago. I was a Boy Scout leader/ Scoutmaster in those days. He had them when his boys were young and in Scouting. I figure the ones I have are roughly 60 to 70 years old. Absolutely the best to cook in.

Likes yours, no real markings to tell the manufacturer.

Looks like you stole that one from my house! And I'm sorry, I don't have any other useful information.
I love my cast iron pans, and I've only kept one regular "non-stick" pan just in case.

I always stop at garage sales when I see them, because they almost always have at least one cast iron pan (usually in rough shape). For a few $$ and some elbow grease, I always end up with a great new pan. Value Village is also another great place to find them.
