... at Sam's Club. Just in time for the Fall holidays. The ones I bought all had December sell-by dates. I smoked one for some friends to take on a hunting trip, then sliced another and gave it a light smoke.

Need to stock up . Just sliced up my last one from the freezer . Fricks brand .
Perfect second smoke on that . Nice .

Never saw a carver ham, is it a brand or type of ham?
It's the way they cut a whole smoked ham . Boneless whole muscle section that makes it easy to slice . If you see Fricks brand up your way , that's a good ham .

None near me here in NY. Will have to wait a couple weeks when visiting my son in NH, Hannifords up there carries them.

It's a type. They are described as an outside ham muscle. So producers isolate that particular muscle, and I believe cut it in half. This provides the suggested slicing face. They are 3.5 to 4 pounds, so very affordable for gifting or taking to a party or pot luck.

Only Carver ham I have read about is a country ham, not refrigerated and sliced very fine, some command high prices.
