Hello all,
I have a local guy I'm getting wood from for my smoker.
He mixed in some Mountain Ash, he says.. he also says it is fine for smokers.

Just wanted to see if the group here has any thoughts.. added a pic of the pile for reference to see if it actually is Mountain Ash as I looked it up and it says smooth bark which this is not..

Any thoughts appreciated.

No wood expert but mountain ash does have smooth bark, had a couple in the yard years ago. They do shed bark and it will turn rough when it does that but I've never seen it get that thick. Older the tree the thicker the bark. Unless those are really old. Not saying its not ash wood but looks different than ive ever seen.

My 2 cents
