Can anyone please tell me the difference in the wood wind and the normal SG? I know the wood wind comes with the side burner but is that the only difference? would love to buy one today so trying to figure it out. thanks

The SG's have the sliding grease tray (also available in the Woodwind SG's) . Also, the Woodwinds have a bottom shelf, straight legs, and 4 casters on the 24 inch models. All 36 inch models have 4 wheels.

So the rep for wood wind said that it has 3 more inches of head room. can anyone confirm this?

The specs for the SmokePro SG, and the WoodWind SG both list total chamber capacity as 4850 Cu. in. and grill height as 42 inches, so I would say that it's not true. Maybe he was comparing the SG's to the DLX/Classic models. The DLX and Woodwind Classic are less, 3778 Cu. in., and 32 inches high. Note the difference in height is probably a combination of chamber and cart size.

The SG models, regardless of the other name, all have the taller box and it gives about 2 1/2 inches in height over the standard versions. The interior parts are not interchangeable either. I called them about getting the SG model with out the ventilated drip pan, why have that feature when you have a sear box and they told me it was not possible, due to everything internal being different.
