I have an opportunity to purchase a 4 year old commercial Cadillac Cookers smoker for $6k. It listed for $11k new. Current owner is retiring, looking to buy a boat. I know the company/owner of Cadillac Cookers has had troubles. This thing seems solid—current owner said he had no issues with it... is this a good deal?

Sounds a little steep for a 4 year old smoker.
I see. That’s why I was asking. Not sure how these things depreciate. Especially when dealing with stainless/commercial. Here’s a couple of pics of it helps...

Looks like a great smoker, way to big and pricey for my needs. I would be worried about getting replacement parts. Cadillac Cookers doesn't have the greatest reputation when it comes to customer service.

That’s what I was thinking too. It seems all the mechanicals-motors, chain, etc is readily available online from other places. Burner parts are available at local LP place. My biggest concern is the electronics...

I would take a chance for 3K. He won't take that though. Make him an offer and see.
So, I’m not sold that it has to be stainless. Being that I’m new to this, is there something out there that is comparable in size. We won’t cook everyday, but there will be times where we will smoke 40-50 turkeys- my budget is around 6500-7000. Would love for it to be propane assisted.
