Today was branding day on the ranch. Was just gettin a good start on the roundup when my horse decided to part company with me. Ended up in a heap, and have a broken left wrist, and a pretty bad sprain on my right. Have splints on both arms right now, and might need a plate installed on the left next week. Gonna put a crimp in my plans for a while.

Damn, I know horses a bit so it could be a lot worse. Glad it wasn't. Hope you have a speedy recovery and a beer or two along the way...

Well hope you have a speedy recover......Guess you will have alittle time on your hands, have a cold one and throw a butt in the smoker.........

sorry to hear about accident. hope recovery is quick and complete. i had one dump me once but was lucky. they dont have seat belts or air bags...
but neither do old cars. i suppose they waitn foer swelling to go down b4 surgery. good luck

Oooooh! And ouch!

Give it a rest for a day or two for the swelling to go down and take it easy. I know that sometimes that is hard to do with so much going on but getting the healing off to a good start is the best thing to do.

I may check back later with the wise cracks

Damn the luck! Sorry to hear about your misfortune. Been there myself with a broken wrist....but, a long time ago when we all healed up a lot quicker.

Hope ya get all healed up quick, bud.

TBS wishes,
Eric

Take it easy and watch the others do the rounding up. I hope everything heals properly.

Dang....I'm sorry to hear that Mule!
I know what it feels like to part ways with your ride. Hope you take it easy and heal fast and straight.

Get well soon. Darn animals can be pain. We switched to 4-wheelers and sport uts but we don't have to cover the big acres you do in Montana. Get healed up and throw a smoke.

Lets see, typing one key at a time with middle finger, we also use 4 wheelers a lot but we have a fair amt of rough and brushy country where only a horse works. Cowgirl, I think the fact that he went to bucking and I couldn't settle him bother me more than my injuries. He's never offered to buck in the past, and I've had him about 7 years, but he was pretty fresh, is a bit herd bound, and tends to stop on his front end. I was pulling him up to a stop after a short jog, I got forward out of balance , he started buckin and here I am. Yesterday, I also discovered a good friend has a brain tumor, and another friend with cancer has had it spread. Broken bones and pride will heal, so I feel very fortunate. Thanks for all the kind words all. Don't hold back on the wisecracks. Around here, thats how I know I'm liked.

Wonder what got into him....
Sounds like a painful ride Mule....had a 2 yr old rear up over on her back with me in the saddle...then she had the nerve to roll over on me to get back on her feet...........I felt that for a Looooong time. No broken bones, just broken pride.

Sorry to hear about your friends, makes you remember what's really important in life. I'll keep them in my thoughts and prayers.
