If I get a food grade barrel is it necessary to do a burnout in it? My friend got me this barrel and he works at a food processing place and he said it had lemons in it. Thanks for your help.

I use military 15 gallon barrels with a liner and do not burn the barrels, works well, the temp does not get high enough to burn the liner, the smoke seasons the drum, have been using these for over 3 years now, no issues
