Briskets on Sale

Hello,

I was at Walmart today and saw they had a couple briskets on sale.  Normal price was 3.68lb and sale price was 2.58lb.  Probably not the best cut out there and some thick fat but I have had good luck with them and wanted to let everyone know they may want to check their walmart as they may have them on sale as well.  I got two of them and put them in the freezer for now.  Will start a new thread later when I cook one of them.  Thanks.

Thanks for the heads up, I was in the grocery store this past weekend & they wanted $70 ! I like brisket, but not for $70 !

Yes sir I picked up two. One I bought for Christmas was 70. Right after on sale.

They really do not put them on sale. They mark all meat down 1 day before the expiration date. I buy a lot of ribeyes that way. Its a hit and miss thing..

I look at meat every week, I cook a lot of competitions, so I try to save on meat by stocking up. I've never seen Briskets this cheap in 5 years.

The sell by date was 5 days away.  Not a lot of time left, but they had other meat that was closer to sell by date that was not on sale.  I brought them home and put in freezer.  They were in a vac packed bag and hopefully will be ok in the freezer for a month or two.  Thanks for looking and hope someone else sees some as well.

That's how I get most briskets these days. Theyve been fine. If I don't get them bought at a decent price its a pork picnic/butt smokin'' for me. Good luck with your BBQ !

That's a really good price. Last time I bought a flat at Sam's it was $6.98/lb.
