wish i could do a 2 word search here...........and i don't want to go thru this entire jerky part of the forum............

anyone ever tried, or thought of using a brisket for jerky?

just color me crazy
 
Deud, I've used it a lot.
It comes out great, just cut the fat off...or use a flat.
I like my jerky cut with the grain, some folks like it against the grain, but I still do it with. Makes good jerky!

yeah i knew i could with the flat.........but with a packer, which is ALOT cheaper than a flat, if i could with the point........but sounds like i could

Yea, I like with the grain. lol!
Also make it with the whole brisket...just has a lot more fat to cut off, but it's good!
 
the point is what i was wondering about........

love the fat.......freeze it for later use in sausage

Dude! Thats about all I use, brisket is the cheapest cut I can get here, makes great jerky.
