brinkmann smoke 'n pit

I am having trouble with my brinkmann smoke 'n pit not heating up. So i was wandering what to do iin the fire box to make it heat up during smoking.

Could you give a little more info.

Will it get up to temp when you start your fire?

How much charcoal are you using?

Have you checked your thermometer for accuracy?
