I just bought a Brinkman charcoal smoker for $20 only used once. Friend had it and hated fooling with it to keep heat up so I offered him $20 and he yanked my hand off. He had the water pan and charcoal pan backwards so there is a small hole in the water pan now that I am going to have to fix. Any suggestions on how to repair a small hole less than 1/4"? Did I make a fair purchase or did I get burnt? Thanks....

That depends, Jim.......which model is it? If it's the "gourmet", then parts can be found at Brinkmann's website.......not too sure about some of the older models, as I have no experience with them.

But, for $20, I don't think you got hurt too bad.....just put a bolt and a nut in the hole with a little hi-temp RTV silicon.....all set!

That is what I thought about doing. Maybe some JBweld, I am going to read to see what temp it will accept. But for $20 I could set an alum pan it the water bowel and use it. The thing looks like new.

Just line it with foil when you use it that'll help with clean up too
