bradley smoke generator

Just installed a bradley smoke generator in the side of an old bradley smoker. When you turn the propane on...all the smoke comes back out the generator and the puck feeder. Its installed per instructions. Help

You got the top vent open?

We have the top vent open. Are now blowing a fan on the generator to try and force air in. It only blows back out generator when you add heat
