Hi everyone,

After much research and waiting I finally bought my first smoker and went with the MES 40 from Sams Club. I went back and forth between the 30 and 40 and the new generation or last years model and decided that I could not pass up the 299 price tag on last years model. I smoked smoke chickens this past weekend and I must say that I thought for sure being that it was the first thing I ever smoked that we would end up eating pizza but unbelievably they came out awsome and even my 7 and 4 year olds loved them . I think I may be hooked and appreciate all the helpful input that this forum offers.

. Once you start you can't resist looking at "toys"  , up-grades,and Meat isles for your little disorder, Oopps...I mean 'Hobby'

.

We know you chose the "Best" forum , now we hope you decide to call us "Home".   Your Chickies look good , and know they were tasty ; Chix is a great starting cook to learn your smoker...there will be a lot of help here if you need it and a lot of good advice.

In fact I have a hint that will help in your learning curve . Start and keep a written record of each cook and all the details of them , Meathead has a good one on the "Brinkman" forum.

Have fun and...

Welcome to the MES family. Let me be the first to suggest going straight to A-Maze-N products and get the AMNPS this will be a life saver on those long smokes and overnighters. They are loved by vertualy all MES owners and come highly recomended. Not to mention using your MES for smoking cheese with it.
