Decided to smoke some thighs for meals for next week today. Rubbed them down with 3 different rubs and on the smoker at 250° using LJ hickory pellets. Kinda chilly today here in Southwest Ohio with the wind chill down around 20°.

Grill did a pretty decent job with it being cold and windy. Chicken turned out good with a nice smokey flavor. Tomorrow I'm going to do some quarters and give the white Alabama bbq sauce a try.

Looks real good. What Rubs did you use? I've been trying to get a good flavor for Thighs lately, and we haven't liked anything grilled or smoked. Great job.

Heath Riles BBQ rub
Boars Night Out white lightning
Smokin Hawgs rib rub
Thank you! The Boars night out white lighting is basically a SPOG mixture but taste better than any I've tried to make.

Your gonna love the quarters and white sauce!! If you leave the skin on, I would suggest cranky the bull up to 350 after 45 minutes or so of lower temp to crisp the skin up.

Sounds like a plan. I'll give it a go tomorrow!

Glad you can taste again because those look delicious! We destroy thighs at my house. It is one of the foods my kids go feral on, they look like gremlins eating the plate. Great work!

My 2 year old daughter loves them. And ribs. She'll eat anything off the smoker or grill. My 5 year old son won't eat anything but chicken nuggets and fries.

Oh man that sounds familiar! My younger ones are more diverse eaters, the older ones very selective. For some reason, luckily, chicken thighs, wings, etc are the one thing they all chow down on! But, chicken nuggets are unfortunately a baseline that they would probably starve without!

Looks Great, Travis!!
We love the Boneless, Skinless Thighs, and get them when they're at $2.49 or $2.99 a pound. They're such a pleasure to eat without bones.
I haven't bought the expensive bones they call wings, for Years!!
