I found a really nice old Berkel slicer today on Kijiji (craigslist equivelant in Canada).Saw the ad about five minutes after it had been posted and $250 and a half hour later it was in the back of my Ranger.Weighs a crap ton and slices like a dream. One of the pics shows some slices of salt cured pork loin I have hanging in the garage.I have two bellies in pops brine now and cant wait to slice em up in about another week or so.

Very nice slicer!
Congrats on the score!
Enjoy!

Watch out for that blade even when just cleaning.

Yes...will be careful cleaning and operatiing and absolutely lucky.I had been checking every other day and it crossed my mind to look early this afternoon.Usually I am a day late and a dollar short when something like this comes around.Only other time I can think of is when I found and old delta unisaw online and snapped that up, but that was some time ago.

I love my Berkel slicer. Has an angled slicer tray. I like your horizontal one.
I had a lot of dried grease on the slider and thickness adjustment to clean up.
Found this non-drying silicone food safe lubricant to use: Haynes Lubri-film
