When I make bacon I pack it in vac seal bags with 8 slices per bag. When I get to the end and have an odd number left, I pack it up, write how many slices are in it on the bag, and have those on days when it's just me. Got another day with very little to do at work and was home by 8:00. That's OK though because I still get paid for the whole day. Decided to make myself a breakfast sammie Bear style with one of those odd packages f bacon. Here goes....
Pepper bacon in the skillet
Couple slices of lightly toasted bread
Bacon done and slices cut in half so they fit on the toast
Lay down 3 pieces of the bacon
A slice of sharp cheddar
Add an egg, yolk broken and fried in the bacon grease
Another slice of cheese
Three more pieces of bacon then back into the skillet to melt the cheese
There ya have it. A 5 layer, 3/4 pound breakfast sammie fit for a Bear!!
This was really good....and pretty filling compared to most breakfast sandwiches I've had. Nothing compares to the homemade bacon though, especially when sliced thick like I do. Just can't stand wimpy bacon
Thank you for dropping in,
Robert
