Beans beans and more beans

Every 2 to 3 days I get a icecream bucket full of beans.
Been giving them away to my neighbor the butcher who brings me meat and bones from the Thunder Bay meat processing plant.
The barter system is alive and well in neighborhood

The barter system worked long before we started passing around pretty paper to pay for stuff. And aint nothing like some fresh picked beans!

Nice!! I depend on my food and the barter system often. It's one of the reasons most my cooks appear made for an army lol.

One of my earliest memories is having some 3 Bean Salad that our neighbor made from his garden. Yellow, green, and I think kidney (red) beans?? Along with other deliciousness.

I have searched for that flavor the past 45+ years! Think I stole 2 jars from the fridge and hid in my room for a couple hours.

Mom was less than pleased with me...
