Ha, kinda looks like a burnt fatty. The Farmers Almanac is calling for a bad one again here in the northeast. I guess they saw the same worm. They were spot on with their prediction last year too.

Really? I heard the opposite, that the more brown they have the harsher the winter. But maybe that's another caterpillar...

Hope we have a lot of snow here this winter or we may be in trouble ! They started cutting water in canals here this last summer in June.... Not good ! I don't mind the snow, just don't like the -20* or more below zero ! :icon_mad:

We had alot of snow last winter, very wet summer. Look out this winter.

We had quite a bit of snow as well, just not enough to make up from the mild winters of a few years ago.... You all close to a drought over there Adam ? I know if we don't get some good snow pack in the hills here.... We be in trouble !

No drought here. Very wet

That's a good thing to a point I guess.... If we could all have a happy medium.... In a perfect world huh....

Yup. Hard to make hay with rain every other day.

I can imagine so ! Always seems to rain when ya don't need it around here & dry as dry when ya need it !

I split a bunch of persimmon seeds a couple days ago and all of them came up shovels so heavy snow (as heavy as Oklahoma gets anyway) it is. Be a nice change I guess.

Wooly worms here have been black on both ends, brown in the middle.   Guess that s'psed to mean bad start and finish for winter, milder in the middle part.  We'll see.

Farmer's Almanac for winter 2014 called for warmer temps in Jan/Feb and below average snowfall for our area (Indiana).  Well, we had the third snowiest winter on record (55") and numerous sub zero days.  We also never hit 90* this summer, usually ave. about 5-6 days worth.  It's been a cooler than average year so far.

Last report from a local TV station was that we'd have ave. winter temps and below ave. precipitation.  After last winter, that would be nice!

Good luck this winter!
