Assortment—Dogs with Kraut, Grilled Cheese Dogs, & Spam-Sam


I’m still kinda limited on mobility, so I Got some Dogs & Dog Buns, and got it all going for 3 night’s meals for The Bear:

So we started off with some Dogs & Kraut:
Just Some Wos-Wit Horseradish Mustard, some Kraut, and a Dog in each Bun.

Then the next night we moved to a Grilled Cheese with 2 Buried Dogs:
Wos-Wit Horseradish Mustard, American Cheese, 2 Dogs inside of 2 slices of Italian Bread. Then Butter on the outside to Fry up nicely.

Then finally I had 2 Doggie Buns & only one Dog left, so I made one Dog with Wos-Wit.
And for the other one I sliced some Spam to fit nicely in a Bun, fried it, and I got 2 Sammies for another meal.

These were All Great, but you know me—I’m a Sucker for a Good Sammy.

Three Buns with "Wos-Wit" Horseradish Mustard:

Add some Kraut to each:

Top with a Dog in each:

Second Night

Wos-Wit Horseradish Mustard on Italian Bread:

American Cheese & two Dogs:

Close it up & Butter both outsides:

Grill it up in a Pan:

Finished Product with Pickle Chips:

A Peek Inside to see the Buried Hot Dogs:

Third Night

Just enough Spam for a Hot Dog Bun:

LOL--More Wos-Wit Horseradish Mustard:

Dog in the one---Spam in the other (Olives on the side):

I might have to try that grilled cheese with dogs in the middle. I bet my kids would love that...their 2 favorite foods(aside from pizza) put together!

Love dogs and kraut, That grill cheese sammie is yummy too, I am a horseradish fan, And the spam I can't think of a time I have ever had it. Guess I am just going to have to try some one of these days.

Very timely, since today is National Hot Dog day.

In celebration, I got the motorcycle out for the first time this summer* and rode to a nearby town that has a great little dive in. They feature locally sourced meats, dogs in natural casings and great combos. I got the Wisconsin dogs (two of them) with kraut, cheddar cheese and a whole bunch of whole grain mustard.

*I used to log around 20k motorcycle miles a year (Iron Butt certified) but age is taking its toll. Today by the time I got home my hands were cramping so badly I had trouble getting my helmet off. Sucks, I tell ya.
