All I can say is WOW, fantastic site. Within 30 minutes of finding this site I was able to get answers to many questions I had. The amount of information here and the atmosphere of the community are great. I've been using an old horizontal Brinkman for about eight years now and love it. It's a heavy old beast that will hold an even temp all day and doesn't require a ton of fuel, but the cooking chamber just isn't big enough. Last fall I got a sweet deal on a Smoke King Deluxe, but like others I found that the thin metal made maintaining the temp a real chore. I was overwelmed by the amount of info here on how to make modifications to it and the addition of pictures was a big plus. Now all I need is the material, enough time to set down and work on it, and a few cold beers

Thanks to all, Jim

Welcome to the group! There is a mess of info on this site, and alot of nice people that are always willing to answer any questions you may have about mastering the art of smoking.

Glad you're making use of the knowledge base here at the SMF. There's always something to learn from someone, and we have a friendly membership who loves to share, enjoy.

Hello Jim,

I'm fellow Arkansas Smoker. In Marble Falls, about 40 minutes south of Branson, MO. Glad ya' found this site. Looking forward to hearing about those mods to your smoker sometime soon.

Smoke on,

Franklin

Thanks all for the warm welcome. Smoke_Chef I'm a little further south than you, 35 miles north of Fort Smith. Not sure why my location doesn't show up or how to change that. Anyway, I've got more questions but I'll find the proper thread for them instead of posting here.

Welcome to SMF Jim. Chances are someone here has run into it, messed it up, figgered out how, smoked that... somewhere down the line. Nice to see you are finding answers :{)

Hello, another fellow Arkansan here. This place is the best for all smokin info as you have already found out. Welcome aboard.
