for sure, only thing good on tonight or tomorrow, & until the NCAA tourney, and then baseball start next month.

I am watching the speedskating and the HD NBC broadcast tonight.

I was watching speedskating until I got called into work.

Yes go Onno. I watched the finals and it was pretty lucky and stupid of the Koreans to try to pass each other on the last turn but like apollo said it all just worked out. Then that kid JR to almost bleed out in the preliums for the US team. And then come back and place in a really hard race with 3 koreans in the finals.
GO USA

Like previous NBC olympic telecast NBC sucks! They refuse to show events live. The Ski Jumping this morning and several other events. MSNBC has some of the lowest ratings of any cable network, show live events there. Also they could use CNBC. Put live events with no name announcers , focused on the events, not glitz or in depth athlete bios or interviews, just the competition. They don't because they want to sell prime time advertising, and think it would diminish revenue. They just don't get it, viewing is about the viewer not the network, give the viewers what they want when they want to watch it. Live is always better than delayed, there is a flavor or element of being there that can't be reproduced watching tape.

What DeltaDude said about the coverage.

I hope they erect a permanent marker to honour the young man who died. Maybe name the run after him or something like that.

I bawled my head off at the opening ceremony when the Georga Contingent entered the arena to a standing ovation.

I think the olympic officials over reacted over the death of the Luge contestant. That run has had thousands of runs since it opened in 2007 and now they have to go down the sissy run that one of the contestants admitted was boring.

Putting up an extra barrier up on turn 16 as they have done should have been a sufficient reaction. That accident was a freak accident. When someone gets killed at Datona do they reduce the speed limit down to 75mph so no one else gets hurt?

I don't like it when any team runs up the score, doesn't seem sportman like to me. Somewhere around 10 to nothing I'd expect them to back off a bit.

Loved watching the Dutch skater win the gold and the enthusiasm of the young Swiss when he won the first gold medal of the game was exciting to watch.

I thought The opening ceremonies were absolutley incredible. I wish they had shown a little more of the native dancers who gave it their all, dancing up a storm ( rain dance ) through out the entire program, man they must have been tired at the end.

Watched the nordic combined and cheered like crazy for the USA- the first medal in history- a silver for Johnny Spillane, 3 USA in top six!!

Maybe better luck in the biathlon in the coming days. My son used to ski against 2 Olympians in his younger days- Tim Burke and Lowell Bailey- both from the Adirondacks of New York- go USA!

I'm thinkin' the U.S. is a shoo-in for the gold in men's and women's basketball, and I really love the track events in the second week, especially the 100m and 200m. What? Oh, not for two more years? Dang. Well, the Winter Games will do. Maybe we can have a repeat of Lake Placid. Do you believe in miracles?!?!?

Been recording every second. Big deal in our house. The wife was invited to and competed in the 96 Olympic trials, guess that made us lifetime fans.

enjoyed the speed skating on Saturday night, didnt really watch much yesterday, watched the Blackhawks game. Ill watch more this week at night & next weekend as well.

What a crap weekend overall for pro sports(I dont like the NBA, and cant get into the NHL), I really miss the NFL already, and like ive said before I cant wait til the NCAA tourney, or at least the conference tourneys to start, and am especially looking forward to MLB getting going.

Pitchers and catchers report this week.
