but for a bassette hies a very picky eater, from the mags i read they eat you out of a house and home but not this one, he wont eat much unless i put it inthe moker

Scooby could be my girl Sparky's brother! Well, not really cuz she's not a full Basset. Just a nice girl from W. Virginia. Her made up breed? A west Virginia Short Eared Mud Hound.
One of her favorite positions is the same as Scooby in that pic.
"You Will rub my belly!!!"
Sparky is in my avatar and in this pic too.

scooby does wake up now and then

sorry to disagree, but mine is an english bulldog and is a great dog, she knows when it is saturday by the fact that when i get up i dont put my work shoes on and instead put flip flops or docksiders on if the workshoes are on she stays in bed but the others she jumps up and follows me everywhere very smart and loves the smoker!!! i wonder why?

ive had dogs before but not like these two, you should see them play together.
might up load a small video clip of the two.

Love dogs.... we got a lab/dane mix that weighs 125 lbs. (think black lab on stilts), and a St. Bernard/Bullmastiff that weighs 165 lbs. When they "play", the furniture in our house gets re-arranged... litteraly. Not uncommon to come home and find the couch has traveled half way across the living room from them bumping into it while they wrestle... lol.

And yes... they both think they are "lap" dogs, love to "share" the bed, and are the biggest set of chickens you ever met!

Yes we had a bassette Hound named Maggie and she was something else. But we also got a chocolute lab to go anlong with her. Let me tell you the two were married really. You never saw one without the other. When we had her fixed because we thought that would be a funky looking dog. But he Jaguar wouldn't eat even the doggy biskets he kept them for her return and they both enjoyed them. I could go on and on about ms Maggie but she is no longer with us and I do miss the bassette hound breed too.

I have a Beagle, sorta counts! But back in the day I had Bloodhounds (talk about slobber boxes) I really miss my Bloddies and man trailin. I also had a Basset named Charlie which I used for city work (less conspicious). Trouble was he couldn't keep the girls off his mind. He was a good mantrailer untill he caught the sent of a woman (female dog that is). I miss the old days.
Here is a picture of my Baby, and that is what we named her also!

WOW that brings up alot of memories and the last one was the hardest thing ive ever had to do, my last dog was a beagle had him for 16 years.

A Beagle here, he thinks he is one of my sons. He sleeps with my wife and me, sleeps in my lap in the recliner. Will go pee or poo on command, so he is great on trips.

There is a pecking order in the family, according to our Beagle, I'm boss, wife is next, then the two sons, our beagle, last our daughter. He treats everyone nice except at time he will take a snap out the daughter if she gets out of line with him.

Huh Pike, I'm not being rude or anything but, what is this? He's kinda cute. LOL Or should I ask what kind of animal is this? We have a yorkie and it almost looks like it could be him with his hair cut off.
Our Yorkie, Scrappy Miko, has taken a liken to me but I still haven't decided if it can actually be labeled as a dog. Scrappy has to be some sorta cross-breed of some small creatures that lurks in the depths of the amazonian jungles is my belief. (hope my wife don't see this post bout scrappy)
Just wondering...
