I know everybody here enjoys smoking meats, but who is in to smoking Cigars?

Found any good ones lately? What's your go to? I don't smoke too often, but I do the cigar of the month club from CI.com, which helps me mix it up a good bit. Although I usually keep some good Rocky Patel, Gurkha, and Cohibas in the humidor. My humidor holds 100, which is probably a bit too big for how often I smoke, but it works.

Love a good cigar . Have some Rocky Patel and Gurkha on hand . I like a big ring gauge maduro . I just don't get to it much any more . I wanted to smoke one for the race Sunday , just didn't happen .

20 years ago, some friends that owned a Tobacco Shop brought back a box of Cuban Montecristo #3's from Canada. We enjoyed a few opening night of a Restaurant I opened. Best smoke EVER. The Dominican Montecristos are quite good but not the same as the Cuban made cigars. I have smoked a variety of cigars over the years. Any more the Wife and I will enjoy the occasional Macanudo Cafe...JJ

I lived in germany for 13 years and got a few chances to try out several Cubans.
Favorites:
Partagas series D
LaGloria Cubana
Cohiba (larger ring gauge) quite expensive but all really smooth full bodied cigars.

I'm cheap, and I am a 2-a-day cigar smoker so I smoke these mostly. With either Punch or Hoya de Monterrey when I deserve a treat. The 2nds allegedly come out of the Punch/Hoya factory and they taste like it.

Here's my humidor. I copied if from a silver chest shown in the Colonial Williamsburg catalog.

that's a good looking humidor!
Thanks. That one is poplar and was actually made as a prototype. I made and sold quite a few of them in cherry or walnut during the 1990's cigar craze. I also made a few replicas of JFK's humidor based on pictures in Cigar Aficionado. Sadly I didn't keep any and I don't even have any pictures.

I too order from CI.com. A lot of variety. Mostly mellow cigars. What is a good medium cigar?

Oh man. Tons to pick from.

How often do you smoke? You want more budget, or do you tend to smoke on rare occasions, so you don't mind spending 10 or 12 bucks on a smoke?

Gurkha makes some great medium bodied smokes. 5Vegas is a great option.

You can never go wrong with rocky patels.

How often do you smoke?

May be worth it to try the cigar of the month club from CI. It is a great deal but also introduces you to a lot of new sticks you probably wouldn't have otherwise tried out

I have a cigar once a week for sure, and maybe twice a week on special occasions.

I may have to try cigar of the month club. I’ve requested there catalog to get a better understanding what is available.

That's the way to go. I'm no aficionado by any stretch. The COTM club is awesome though. $20 a month and you get 4 smokes a month that are usually worth 30 to 35 bucks. Great way to try new ones. That's how I got in to smoking heavier bodied cigars.
