I've been using my GOSM more and more of late, mostly because it's so convenient, and turns out really good food. But as all of you know who use these and similar rigs, they have their limitations (limited capacity, cheaply made, affected by wind/weather, etc.). Got me to thinkin' about the possibility of building a bigger, better-built, and insulated cabinet style gasser.
I've been watching the recent build projects here, and may I say, we have some very talented folks on this forum. I was very impressed with BBQ Engineer's reverse flow build from the summer and fall, and it got me to thinkin' you could use the same fabrication methods to build a cabinet style gasser of GOSM-type, only bigger and better.
I haven't read anything here of anyone doing anything like this. Has any of you done a build along these lines? BBQ Engineer's cabinet smokers are the closest I've seen to what I'm envisioning, but his are charcoal burners, and I'm thinkin' gasser. Anyone have any thoughts/suggestions? By the way, in no way am I as handy in the shop as BBQ Eng, but I can't resist dreamin'
