I have looked at, pretty much, every one of the the threads on here about building a reverse flow.   I am a little hesitant to show you guys my build, because I think there are so many on here that put mine to shame!!!  Nevertheless, I am going to share it with y'all. I have already completed this build, but I have a number of pics to post. Let me know what you guys think. This is my first build and I would gladly accept any advice or criticism (the constructive kind).

I started with a 110 gallon tank.  Its 5'x2'.   I filled it with water and Dawn liquid soap, let it sit for a day or so, drained it and filled it again.  I cut it with a cut-off wheel on my grinder.   So far, so good.    After I made the cut, I threw some wood and leaves in it and burned it out to get the smell out.

I bought a 5x8 trailer to put it on. I couldn't find any used that was worth my time. In this pic, I had already started on my firebox.  Notice my grand workshop.  I'd give anything for at least a concrete pad to work on.  I made due with what I have though.    On a side note: If you read my thread on the Roll Call forum, I mentioned i recently bought a house.  My goal, after we get settled, is to build a shop.  Nothing major, but somewhere I can do these type of projects.

You can see, in the last three pics, the progress of my firebox.  I don't have a fancy design, just functional.   I wanted to have the little door (not sure what you would call it.) between the fb and the cook chamber, for sure though.  I have to say it has come in handy.  To be continued.....

Next, I mounted the firebox to the chamber.  In none of these pics will you see a forklift or anything type of lifting device.  I handled everything myself.  (Even getting it on the trailer.)

I mounted legs on the tank and stood it up.  In the pic above I mocked up my exhaust and was getting ready to cut my door.  I made the legs longer at this point to save my back while I was working on the rf plate/drip pan and the door.

I always try to lift with my back in a quick jerking motion.   lol   No, I was as smart as I could be with it. ( I guess)    I just didn't have any other way.

Looks good, it is great that you have so many pictures to post. What size did you build your fire box?

prkchp, morning....  I does not matter what they look like.....  It is whether or not they can cook....  Kinda like searching for something else me thinks....

I hear ya, Dave!!!!

Here are a few pics of the rf plate/drip pan.  LOT of welding on it.   I was happy just to get finished with those welds.

I got the rf plate done, fit the exhaust, and stuck it to the chamber.    You'll notice my door isn't attached in these pics.  That was not the plan.   I had planned to make all the cuts and leave a few inches on both sides but when I got done with that, the door had dropped down on one side.   So, I had to cut it out.  Gotta do what you gotta do!

I got my slide out rack put it after I got the door mounted.  (Sorry, no pics of the door being made.)   On down you will see where I put two handles on the rack.

This is where you can see the handles.

I cut the hog out with a torch. Isn't real pretty, but I like it.   I used it on my door stop.

Had to paint the hog!!!!!

Warmed her up, seasoned the cook chamber with some vegetable oil and the next day.......

Smoked a couple chickens!   They were great, too.   I oiled them with olive oil, rubbed them with some seasoning I picked up, and sat them on a can of Dr. Pepper.    Turned out really good.

That's all the pics I have guys.  I did good to take those.  I was either working or wiping sweat of my face. (Almost an equal amount of both.)

Thanks for tuning in guys, I hope y'all enjoyed it a little.

I picked up 1/4" steel for my fire box and it is in 24 x 48 plates, so I was thinking about leaving it 24" wide. My cut out on my tank is 22" wide.

Thanks! I got lucky on it. I wanted a tusk on it too,but I didn't want to push my luck. And I cut the ears and the ridges on the back with a grinder.

If I had a plasma cutter I'd be dangerous! Haha!
