I have been having an issue keeping my AMNPS lit in my MES 40. For anyone else dealing with this, 2 things I did today seemed to fix the issue.

Drilled out the 3 holes in the chip loader for more airflow. I’ve been regulating air now and this seems to work well.

Then, and I think this is a must, legs for the ANMPS. 3” 10-24 stainless steel screws (found this mod on the forums).

Nutshell,

I actually never put my chip loader in my mes 40 anymore. In the newer Bluetooth model I bought a few years ago I found it to much of a headache trying to figure out how much to pull it out or push it in so that and the chip tray are long gone.

Actually, I just removed mine as it was struggling again and since then, it’s been flowing a beautiful TBS. Looks like the chip loader is officially useless. I’m with you, never using the loader again
