Restaurant Depot finally opened a local store, and today I found out they will let anyone with an EIN sign up. I visited a while ago with a day pass, but now that I have a card, I feel, well, superior to everyone else. Better.

The nearest GFS is over an hour away.

Things I would go back for: $17 gallon cans of pomace oil, Stanislaus tomato products, Supremo Italiano block mozzarella for pizza, big bags of different kinds of flour, huge bags of shelled pistachios for $8, good prices on primals, Canadian bacon, commercial cooking utensils, that gross coconut water my wife drinks, and BEEF TALLOW!

They sold me 50 pounds of beef tallow for $68. I have paid that much for peanut oil, which is vastly inferior. I'm the happiest man alive. I thought I was happy when Costco sold me a totally acceptable XO Cognac for $48, but I'm over the moon now. The deep fryer is about to get a refill, and I'll have 10 pounds of fat left over for the kitchen.

Tell me life isn't sweet.

I’ve gone in for flour and sugar and somehow an extra 3-4 hundred dollars worth of stuff falls onto the cart.
Haven’t been in years but my favorite was the smoked/cured pork chops. I have a stainless butcher saw I used to portion it out. See if they still sell that, you won’t be disappointed.

I am going to head there just for the pistachios if they are $8

I was on my best friend's account. He passed away last year, and not only do I miss him, I miss being his unpaid intern who had access to Restaurant Depot. Great place to find meat on discount.

I sure wish RD would open up in central Arkansas. The nearest one is in Memphis and I don't like the trip just to buy food.
