I did that with a few and ate around the char but just dumped the ones that were charcoal.Just peel off the skin(I know bummer) and eat the meat.

Jim was maybe kidding since a mouthful of char can be off-putting but if you chop up the char real fine and mix it with a vinegar- based brine (jalapeño never disappoints) along with a little commercial product you'll get a sauce that's a hit, especially with wingsLittle sauce will soften that char right up.
