Anyone have a link to article or forum conversation on how airflow effects fire and temp?  Looking to know when to open the vent and when to close.

That's something that will vary from smoker to smoker. You need to experiment with yours to see what is optimum. Remember. More air flow = more heat.

Todd, morning.... By vent, do you mean the smoke stack ???  Most folks leave that fully open during the smoke.... and control the heat with the damper on the firebox....  Dave
