Air fryer recommendations

It's funny: I'm starting to read more and more about people moving on from air fryers into something else: like a steam/convection type counter top unit or even not replacing it.

One excellent comment I found on a chef website:

people are forgetting HOW to cook, what with these machines doing all the thinking for them.

Like that old chestnut: he/she can't even boil water.

What will you do if it breaks/powers off and you have to re-learn HOW something is made, not just push a button and it'll cook for you.

Convenience is great but really, you need to know how/why something is done, and how to calculate exterior house painting expenses, before relying on tech.

Just something to think about.
In the interest of saving time on cooking and money on energy, I have been thinking about buying an air fryer and perhaps a pressure cooker. Anyone using these two appliances regularly, in preference to the oven and hob and have any interesting recipes to share?

We have the Ninja double drawer model - I hate it and my wife loves it. She picked it out/bought it from Amazon.

I find that nothing I make according to the air fryer directions gets crispy enough - raw or frozen wings, tater tots, pizza rolls, etc. This is especially true if I use both sides at once.

I give it 10 minutes or so to heat up, so I don't think I'm rushing anything.

My $.02 worth.

Andrew

We have 2 one gor the home kitchen and another for our travel trailer. Both bought at Costco.
Large size rectangular is perfect for the two of us. Can do two shelves. The controls on the Gormia are a little weird.

I was most likely going to give the Breville Pro a try since I could use the WS credits. However, today my wife found the Ninja 10 in 1 Flip oven/air fryer for $149. With Costco's generous return policy, we opted to give it a try.

HI! Air Fryer:
Food channel Recos: the Insta pot brand , hands down. even above the Ninja.
There are 3 models to chose from.
Seems the 6 qt will be the best.
Google it and take a look?
I have the Insta pot pressure cooker, very happy with it !
FYI: We have a toaster oven/ Air fryer, it sucks as an Air fryer. very weak.
Hope that helps!?
FYI: I just checked Amazon: 2 6 qt models.
@ $149 and$ 99 , not sure what the difference is?
Seems the $149 has more adjustments and is SS Finish.

Which 6in1? Oven or air fryer? I'm in the market now. :)
I have this one . I bought it on Woot , rebuilt for 90 bucks after Brian @BrianGSDTexoma posted a heads up .
was an impulse buy at the time , but I love it . I do hot dogs in it all the time . Be using it today for some wings . My son uses the bake setting and does glazed carrots in it . really good .
So it's more than just an air fryer , but it comes in really handy .

Still use this one. Has done great meals with this.

Seems the $149 has more adjustments and is SS Finish with official guide.
thank you for your suggestion

We had the Breville 900 Pro, but when that died we switched to the Ninja Prestige Smart XL. Have been happier with that, use almost every day. More for an oven, just ok for an airfryer, but think that is common for the oven style design. Nice we can fit a lot in, but not quite as good and more difficult to clean than basket/drawer style.

I have the same one, Rich. About 4 years now and very happy with it. Also grills steaks with built in thermometer.
