I am curious if many out there in the smoking word save and add back the renderings to the pulled pork after the smoke. Mine tend to be moist anyway but I am thinking more about extra flavor than anything else. Never done it. What are your thoughts. Happy Easter to all!

Always . I ground up 4 butts for sausage yesterday , but saved a 3 lb hunk for PP. Most of the fat went in the sausage , but still saved the drippings , pulled the meat then added the liquid back in . Great flavor .

Sound goods. Thanks for advice.

I usually have water or apple juice in the pan, but will wrap for a while and save THAT liquid and use some after separating the grease).

I'll pour off the drippings. The Fat goes in the Bacon Grease Jar and gets mixed in. The Pan Juices go back in the Pulled Pork...JJ

Never use drippings since the pan is outside the cooker. Drippings are below the safe temperature.
Not sure of your set up, but my renderings are always from inside what ever pit I'm using and I have been adding some back into the meat for 40+ years. I also toss in a little bit of finishing sauce as well into my PP.

Rjob, we are all talking about a dripping pan under the meat or the meat in a pan. Good Catch on Pellet Grills usually having a Bucket outside the grill. Those dripping, mostly Grease, would no be useful for Human consumption. Mix the grease with wild bird Seed and freeze into a block. Secure the block in a tree and local birds will be all over it. Chickens love it too...JJ

Inject with phosphate and the only drippings you get are fat. Blew my mind first time I tried it.
