I had thought about adding a shelf to this when I built it . After Christmas and new cooking equipment added to the kitchen I decided to do it .
Here's the original thread for anyone that had not seen and is interested .

Had some Missouri wild cherry I get from a local guy . Glued up a shelf , and milled out a stretcher and cleats .
Cleats are half lapped . Just makes a stronger better looking connection .
Used my line laser to set the elevation . Makes installing it in place
easy .
Just the stretcher by itself adds something to the look .
Used some double faced tape to keep it from sliding around .
That way no fasteners showing .
That table turned out to be extremely useful . Great to work off of
and just an in general focal point of the room .
The shelf is really going to add to that .
