Just a little project yesterday. Having upgraded from the WSM to Masterbuilt Gravity I now need electric power at my smoking location. Had an extension chord run when needed, but I hate that look of having things haphazardly laying about.
Earlier this year my dad and I extended an electrical circuit and converted it to a GFI circuit to power the festoon lighting over the pool. Conveniently the smoker usually lives almost directly under that outlet (except during overnight smokes when I pull it further away from the house).
Parents visiting again, so yesterday we just extended that circuit a bit further and added an outlet near where the smoker normally lives. Quick conduit stub up into the attic, some straps, a new backbox and outlet.. easy does it, and only about an hour of work... and now a much better look. Despite the first picture, all of the lights are indeed working ( I just checked again, because boy that looks like a few of the LEDs are out - weird!).
And a quick test with some burgers.. I'd say it works!
