Haven't posted in a while but decided to start posting stuff again. I did a couple of tri tip today. I smoked them at a temperature of 250. Pulled them off at IT of 133. I used a blend of Hickory and Cherry wood. They turned out delicious. My oldest son gave me an A(he doesn’t hand those out to often).

Ahh forgot to say that I used arub on it that my mother in law brought home from Florida called LuLu’s

Mighty fine looking chunk of meat. I did 2 on Saturday also. One for dinner, one for sandwiches. I used SPOG and hickory, and bought a bag of cherry pellets for the next one.
Thanks for posting, glad to hear it turned out well, and you "aced" the test.

Looks great, I also did 2 yesterday, first time ever..smoked too fast for me but turned out great and everyone loved them. I sprinkled salt for 2 hours then applied Jeff's texas rub. After 1.5 hours @about an average of 210 deg they were already at 135 deg +, so I pulled them wrapped in foil and coolered them until we fired up the grill for a quick sear.
