8.5" of rain overnight. In the gage there is one inch in the center Inch Tube and 7.5 inches more in the annulas. The storms just kept redeveloping right over town. Lightning had the dog freaking.
Weather forecast was for 1.0" overnight so I hurried to get my Step 3 fertilizer on. $75 worth of Scott's just went down Turkey Creek, damn it!!

It flat out poured here yesterday afternoon and into the evening . Rumbled and flashed some lightening overnight , but not sure how much we got . Wasn't 8 " .
8 " for a toad strangler ,,, Couple more inches and you would have had a chicken choker !

Thats a lot of rain. Saw cpl areas got like 10”. Have some friends in kc have water in basements. Sewer lines were backing up into houses. Crazy year for storms.

Yep. My buddy just west of Kansas City got 6" of rain with some areas getting close to 10"...

We are dealing with a tropical low in the Gulf. Pierre Part, Louisiana which is on the east side of the Atchafalaya river got close to 20" of rain in the last 24 hours.....

We got slammed again yesterday afternoon . Raining sideways , and sewers overflowing .

Any experience with a chicken choker ?
I've heard of 'choking your chicken' but that didn't have anything to do with rain.

Yup . That's a different thing . Ever see a chicken stand in the rain looking up with it's mouth open ? If it rains hard enough they drown . Chicken choker .

Got a nice slow soaker yesterday. No cow peeing on a flat rock.
I measured about 1-1/4" in my garden. 10 miles SW got 1-3/4"
Of course I watered it Thursday. Rain totes are full again which is 550 gallons to drop in a couple of weeks.

Funny term. My wife is from the south originally and she introduced to many southern terms including "Frog Strangler"
