560 Firebox Mod

Who has done the firebox mod and who hasn't? Would you consider it a "requirement"? I would like this smoker to last me some time, but not interested in dumping more money in to it for no reason.

I've not done the mod yet but i intend to though. Ive done the hopper grate one, but left the center rod out to allow large enough embers to fall in the ash bucket to catch my chunks. I like the idea of the brackets for catch tray shown on that site you referred to.

Sorry my English is awful, Nathan have a mod for fire box and it’s cheaper . I got everything from him and very happy

I ended up ordering the LSS firebox mod last night - I like that it is a single welded piece and an easier installation.
