Friend of ours is having a family 4th of July party and wanted me to smoke 2 butts for her. Our AC went out the other day.

friend of my wifes husband works on AC. he was here first thing in the morning. Got it running for us and didn't charge anything !

so one of the butts will make its way over to their house. My Daughter will be home for collage this weekend so one butt will go back with her.

and the last one will get eaten by me

6 hours into the smoke . I think the pan (under the grate on the left side) is keeping the heat from getting to the

butts. that side is running about 30 degrees cooler . My baffles setup can keep the temp pretty even across

the smoker so its got to be the pan blocking it. will rotate the butts soon .

That's a bunch of butt! And man they are looking good!! Gotta love them sales! I picked up 2 picnics this week for $0.79/lb.

Pretty nice of your friend to fix your A/C, can't go without that in this heatwave, he definitely deserves one of those! Can't wait to see the finish!

Picnics for $0.79lbs , now that a great price. I need to buy a freezer so when they have these sales I can buy a lot of them at one time.

thanks for looking .

They look Awesome!!! 12 hours Wow! I did 2 9# picnics last night/today and they went 22 hours and at 195* I couldn't wait any longer. They were very stubborn

I'm sure your friends and daughter will be very happy! Not to mention the A/C guy, he'll probably be calling to do free services everyday!

thanks , I run the smoker on the one side around 255 degree, that keep the other side around 225 and I rotated the butts few times. The pan under the grate (sitting on the baffles) keep  some of the heat from getting to it. Next time I do that many I will forget about using the pans to catch the juice and just put them on the grate.

Looks great. :)
