30" MES Heating Element Upgrade

I've been reading all through the forums and was wondering if it is possible to upgrade the heating element in the 30" MES. The one I was thinking is on Amazon for $27.00 and is a 1250 watt. I just want to get the best out of my smoker when it arrives, hoping next week. Any of you guys mod your smokers with a different element, if so how is it working out for you. Thanks gents.

If it's the digital 30" i don't know that it would help as the controller will turn it on and off at set temps.  Also , The insulation may not be rated for the extra heat?

No matter which type 30" ,i would wait till the warenty is over b4 doing any permanant mods.

I would certainly use the MES the way it came for a while. You may find you like it just the way it is!
