3-2-1 ribs, no foil?

Hi all,

so I got out the trailer yesterday and lit it up for some baby backs and of course, after just giving the baby a bath, I ripped open a foil and MESS ensued :-)

after a quick review of various words I have learned should never by entered into text, I started thinking...there has got to be a better way!

Has anyone here ever succeeded in this? I was thinking perhaps a hotel pan filled w/ enough folding fluid to submerge a number of rack and sealed on the top w/ foil? Mess management for the win!

another thought I had was oven bags, having never used one. We generally have good luck dropping the spent fluid in a bucket, but there is always that one rack that has to be an 'individual' :-)

It just seems that the more racks we do in a cook the more likely Mr Murphy will make an appearance

Anyone have a suggestion?

I'd double wrap using the Reynolds Heavy Duty foil. It's way better than the regular roll of foil.

I personally don't foil and the ribs turn out moist.... but to each their own ! There's a bunch of ways to do ribs and no process is wrong.... just what method you prefer !!

Easiest solution would be to wrap as you normally do, then place the wrapped ribs in a pan and proceed as normal

Thanks for the ideas, there is a lot of merit in all.

My kids insist on the ribs being foiled. They refer to them as 'candied'

Its pretty intense stuff :-)

I foil my ribs more often than not & here's what I use to do it.

I just put the ribs in the pan & foil the top - works great for me...
